Cilantro
Cilantro microgreens are the young shoots of the coriander plant (Coriandrum sativum), harvested shortly after the cotyledon leaves appear, before the plants develop a full root system or mature leaves. They offer a milder, more citrusy flavor than mature cilantro, making them versatile for garnishing salads, tacos, soups, salsas, and pestos. Unlike mature cilantro, microgreens are often more universally appealing in taste and less likely to have a soapy flavor for sensitive palates.
Cilantro microgreens are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and K, as well as potassium, calcium, beta-carotene, lutein, and vitamin E. They contain higher concentrations of nutrients than fully grown cilantro, making them a potent addition to a balanced diet. Their antioxidant content supports overall health and can enhance the nutritional profile of meals.
